FAQs

What does chair massage involve?
Chair massage uses an ergonomic chair with a face cradle which enables the therapist to comfortably work on the head, neck, shoulders, back and arms of the person. These areas are usually the most tensed for people spending a lot of time in front of a computer, or at a bench, or even lifting heavy loads. The individual remains fully clothed and no oil or lotion is used.

Is chair massage appropriate for everyone?
There are a few contra-indications such as uncontrolled diabetes, uncontrolled hypertension, fractures, cancer (without a written permission fron their GP) and some of the moves are not suitable for pregnant women. A consultation form has therefore to be filled and reviewed before any session.

Where do you work?
I am based in Guildford and can visit any company within a 25 miles radius (Woking, Farnham, Farnborough, Aldershot, Bracknell, Crawley, Reigate, Dorking, Weybridge, Staines, Kingston, Croydon, Cranleigh...).

How long does it take and how often do you come?
Depending on how much the employer or employee wants to spend, it can take from 5 to 30 minutes. However, it is suggested to choose at least 15/20 minutes so that all tensed areas can be worked on properly. As for frequency, there is no rule and it is up to the employer or employee to decide but it is recommended to get a massage at least every month, although every 2 weeks would be even more beneficial. It can even be a one-off as a special bonus after a very busy period.

How much does it cost and who has to pay for it?
Some companies are happy to invest in the well-being of their employees and to pay for the full cost of on site massage, while some others can decide to subsidise part of the cost. It is also possible to offer the employees the opportunity to receive a chair massage at their own cost. Cost will depend on the duration of each massage and on how many employees are taking part. The hourly rate, including a quick consultation before each massage is £55 but discount can be given based on quantity of employees and length of the contract. Do not hesitate to contact me to discuss a plan.

Can chair massage be used elsewhere?
